The China General Aviation Company (CGAC) has taken delivery of a Sikorsky S-92 from Dublin-based lease and financing company Milestone Aviation. The S-92 is configured for offshore passenger transport and will be deployed on critical offshore oil and gas missions from CGAC's Hainan base.

"We are delighted to have officially partnered with Milestone for the lease of this S-92 helicopter," says deputy general manager Shiming Zhang. "We extend our sincere thanks to the Milestone team for their outstanding professionalism, cooperation, efficiency and dedication. We look forward to the possibility of collaborating with Milestone on further helicopter leases in the years to come."

CGAC is the first professional company to engage in general aviation operations in China. It is also the first Chinese Class A general aviation enterprise to be awarded CCAR-91 and CCAR-135 certification. Its operational capability covers three major areas: helicopters, fixed wing and UAVs. Its flight operation area covers the Gobi Desert, high-latitude cold zones, sea areas and plateaus spanning 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country. The company can independently complete various environmental and special operations over sea and land in various environments at home and abroad. By the end of 2022, it marked the 38th anniversary of continuous safe flight, with a total of 370,000 hours of safe operation achieved.

"We are very pleased to welcome China General Aviation Company as a new customer to the Milestone Aviation Group with the delivery of the first S-92 helicopter," says head of emerging markets Michael York. "We thank CGAC for the trust it has placed in Milestone and look forward to working with it as it continues to expand its offshore fleet."
