Since its entry into service in 2010, Bell's 429 helicopter has surpassed 500,000 global fleet hours. There are more than 400 Bell 429 aircraft in service today, and it was once again named the most favoured aircraft in the 2021 Business Jet Traveller Survey's light twin turbine helicopter category.
The twin engine platform is used by law enforcement agencies and search and rescue organisations such as the Swedish National Police, New York Police Department, Canadian Coast Guard and Air Zermatt's Swiss Alps rescue team. Its optional clamshell doors easily fit litters and unwieldy cargo, allowing for easy passenger and cargo loading and unloading. The cabin can be reconfigured for corporate travel too.
Recently, the Bell 429 was selected by Kuwait International Aircraft Leasing to boost Kuwait's Ministry of Health emergency capabilities. It also entered service as the New South Wales Police Force's premier law enforcement aircraft in Australia, completed its first delivery to Cambodia for corporate travel, and was showcased at European Rotors 2021 as the Bell 429 ESG law enforcement demonstrator, having achieved certification from EASA.
This latest global fleet milestone validates consistent use of the platform says the company, and solidifies its position as an optimal rotorcraft solution for aviators around the world.
