Swedish operator Bromma Business Jets (BBJ) is able to offer an increasingly global service, following the successful integration into the fleet of a Falcon 7X which was delivered late last year. The aircraft joins a 900EX and is expected to frequent European destinations such as Brussels, Frankfurt and London, in addition to longer haul locations. Once established as a corporate flight department, BBJ has now become a full service charter provider owned by some of the large corporations within Swedish industry. Says ceo Brian Liddle: “Last summer, more companies came on board and we went from being a corporate flight department to serving several companies.”
Liddle says that it has never been part of the operator's plans to serve the charter market to a larger extent: “We don't have that much capacity left, and as far as publicity is concerned, we haven't sought it, but we don't avoid it. We don't put any marketing efforts into our operation. We pick up charter now and then, but it's mostly within the network that is connected to our owners, rather than external charter.”
At Bromma airport the company has its own terminal with dedicated parking, business centre, lounge, hangar and EASA Part 145 certified maintenance facilities. It was recently audited by the Swedish CAA to gain EASA-OPS approval. Bromma Business Jets operated three Falcon 100s until a year ago, when all three were sold due to declining demand. According to Liddle, the global travel market is where the majority of business is to be found, and this was what led him to larger Falcons.
“For the rest of this year we will focus on long haul. We might add another 7X to the fleet but haven't decided on that yet. We certainly need the range, and for the near future we will be an operator with two to three long haul aircraft, still serving our owners mainly.”
